There’s more to a “dad shoe” than just chunky construction and a so-uncool-it’s-actually-cool shape. A proper “dad shoe” also needs colorful ornamentation and little details to fully earn its title — and Nike’s newest M2K Tekno has those in spades with its Parisian-style accents. Featuring a layered black and grey upper, the shoe receives dashes of color via a single set of blue lace loops and a small blue secondary swoosh towards the heel. The Tekno’s large plastic heel shank is dressed in a similar shade of blue, and for another burst of color the outsole boasts a pop of bold infrared detailing that stands out tremendously from the thick white midsole. A finishing touch of detailing is provided by the mismatched red and blue swooshes on the insole — a clever embellishment somewhat reminiscent of Skepta‘s Air Max 97/BWs, another shoe that called upon the French flag for inspiration.
